William J. Aiello, Mayor of the City of Olean, NY, was born here in 1952 to Frank (Chic) and Gloria Aiello. A proud husband to Patricia (Wentworth), father of three, grandfather of twelve, and great-grandfather, Bill is Olean through and through.
Instructor at Jamestown Community College and BOCES; certified in multiple law enforcement instruction roles.
Graduate of Olean High School, BOCES, Chautauqua Police Academy; Olean High School Sports Wall of Fame inductee; longtime coach and volunteer.
Recently elected President of the New York Conference of Mayors (NYCOM).
Good News Award (GOACC), YMCA Salute to Olean Award, BOCES Alumni Award, Section 6 Football Federation Honoree, inducted into the Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame (2023).
32-year career with the Olean Police Department, retiring as Captain. Served as Juvenile Officer, Executive Director of the NY Police Juvenile Officers Association, and recipient of the “Youth Officer of the Year” award.
